When I first started creating a yearbook, I was teaching in Brooklyn, NY and the yearbook only included grade five students. I had to cut and paste all of the images and text on to a large cardboard master guide before sending it to be published. A lot has changed in yearbook production since then. I tell my high school students about my experience and they immediately wonder how old I really am. Teaching yearbook to high school students has been both challenging and an extremely rewarding experience. The yearbooks have been designed and created by the students using Adobe's Photoshop and InDesign programs. Throughout the year students grow together as a group and form a strong bond. I truly enjoy the class and look forward to seeing my next group of student's creativity.
